Recording back into the daw on the grid , u sync - nome

Hi all
I still have to order a nome II ..going to v soon
I have query about recording audio back into the daw and potential audio sound card latency ..when using u sync with an external synth / sequencer
So I understand that u sync/ nome will keep the clock out from logic or other daw stable for syncing external synths / sequences.
But in terms of recording the audio back in your daw , even with U Sync / nome providing stable clock to the external device ,,,,,,
is there still considerations around audio latency as everyone has different sound cards. I know logic / cubase has external instrument utility and includes latency compensation. Its does some kind of ping test etc.
But without that , are we looking at the usual methods .lower buffer , software monitoring etc..
I saw the u sync manual that there are suggested audio settings for different daws etc
